The UNLSA Medal was established to recognise the significant overall contribution of a final year student towards the law student community at the University of Newcastle.
The UNLSA Medal has a community and extra-curricular focus as distinct from the majority of current awards that focus on academic performance in the Law program. The UNLSA Medal is open to all final year students enrolled in the Newcastle Law Program and highlights student contribution across the entirety of the undergraduate or graduate program. The UNLSA Medal is awarded where there is sufficient merit.
The recipient will be presented with the UNLSA Medal at the annual Faculty of Business and Law Prize Ceremony in May.
Criteria
The recipient of the UNLSA Medal should display:
- Contribution, above and beyond the norm, to Newcastle Law School activities and/or initiatives;
- Support, above and beyond the norm, of law student peers;
- A positive profile within the University of Newcastle and the wider community, setting a high standard for law students; and
- A significant overall involvement in law student life on campus.
The nominees must be nominated by two law students.
If you believe you know a final year law student that deserves to be nominated for the UNLSA Medal, download the Nomination Form now!
A completed Nomination Form can be enclosed in an envelope (marked ‘UNLSA Medal Nomination’) and dropped off at the UNLSA Office, or scanned and sent via email.
