Opportunities in Law

Semester One

Opportunities in Law was designed to showcase the versatility of the Law degree. This event is a unique opportunity for Newcastle law students to become aware of the vast career opportunities that lie outside the legal sector.

Speakers from outside the typical legal path are asked to present Newcastle law students with alternative career options. Previously notable representatives from the Bar, multi-disciplinary organisations and the Government sector have presented to students.

Come along to the 2015 Opportunities in Law Forum! Opportunities in Law presents all students the opportunity to hear from a diverse range of legal professionals. The forum style event will see speakers present their insights in to the legal profession, as well as non-typical legal practice, through their varied experiences.

This year’s speakers include:

Katie Mooney – National Pro Bono Manager (Sparke Helmore Lawyers)
Steven Lochrin – Compliance Officer (Australian Taxation Office)
Vivien Carty – Barrister
Ashleigh John – Family Law Solicitor (Mullane & Lindsay Solicitors)

Join us for what is sure to be an insightful discussion. Food and Drink will be provided prior to and at the conclusion of the forum. We encourage you to submit any questions you have ahead of time HERE.
